Ornamental Turnery: Frank Knox Waxes Eloquent
Frank M. Knox was a dedicated ornamental turner who wrote a very nice book about the subject. His 1986 work Ornamental Turnery (see the Bibliography for more information) is now out of print, but copies may be found at used book stores or OT auctions. The book contains a step-by-step procedure for doing some basic OT work, and includes much interesting information and pictures. I have reproduced some of the text from the book here -- not all of it, just a small sampling of what Mr. Knox shares in his book. I recommend that you try and find a copy of the book to read further and to get the benefit of the illustrations.
